Oxfordshire County Council yesterday approved plans to lock residents into one of six zones to 'save the planet' from global warming. The latest stage in the '15 minute city' agenda is to place electronic gates on key roads in and out of the city, confining residents to their own neighbourhoods.

Under the new scheme if residents want to leave their zone they will need permission from the Council who gets to decide who is worthy of freedom and who isn't. Under the new scheme residents will be allowed to leave their zone a maximum of 100 days per year, but in order to even gain this every resident will have to register their car details with the council who will then track their movements via smart cameras round the city.

Я так рад, что наконец то кто-то серьезно стал относится к спасению планеты. Действительно, елси люди перестанут жрать мясо, ездить на машинах и вообще выходить из дома, то планета будет спасена. Ну или, на худой конец, Climate Czar сможет летать на WEF митинги на прайвет джете чаще.

People can drive freely around their own neighbourhood and can apply for a permit to drive through the filters, and into other neighbourhoods, for up to 100 days per year. This equates to an average of two days per week.

Хорошо б было посмотерь на карту ограничений но они жалуются на пробки в исторической части города и невозможность расширения дорог изза застройки - отсюда причина ограничений.

Вот эти 100 дней, когда тебе разрешается выезжать/выходить за пределы своего сектора - это, безусловно, именно из-за пробок

Если очертить то они закрывают старый город с узкими улочками от траффика. Хорошое/плохое решение пусть сами жители разбираются. Кольцевая дорога вокруг старого города есть - ездий сколько хочешь. Не перывй и не последний городок в европе страдающий от планировки 500 летней даввности.

Жаль, конечно, что вы так и не смогли заметить, что у них там _зоны_ будут _внутри_ этого города. Но это ладно.

Ну потому-что я с тобой согласен и по 15 мин и т.д. кроме зон. Открой гугл мэпс и вбей туда адреса улиц где будут эти фильтры. Они делают кольцо вокруг старого района. А старый район конечно прямо в центре города и теперь что б проехать с одного конца города в другой конец надо будет ехать по объездной а не переть по прямой через центр города. Это очень неудобное решение для жителей города, и возможно не лучшее но по секторам никто никого не запирает.

Oxford residents (and residents of some surrounding villages) will be able to apply for a permit to drive through the filters on up to 100 days a year. Residents living in the rest of Oxfordshire will be able to apply for a permit to drive through the filter on up to 25 days a year.
